Vista, HP and drivers for a HP Photosmart 7150 June 29, 2007

At last HP have released basic drivers for the HP Photosmart 7150 for Vista.

They describe these as “basic” - I’ll report progress later.

This download includes a Print Driver only. This driver makes it possible to use the basic functions for the printer. HP will not be providing a Full Featured Software and Driver for this product; therefore, some functionality may be lost when you use this product with Windows Vista.

Driver is available via www.hp.com - the direct link is here.

When I try to print with this so-called “driver” my computer wants to “print” the document as an .xps file in my hard drive document file. My printer doesn’t respond. Am I doing something wrong, or missing something?

Sounds like the driver isn’t installed correct; the printer you are using seems to be the Windows imaging driver.

For what it’s worth - the print driver is working pretty well here.
